1/4/2014 9:26:17 PM  Listning To Music While You ride
Modern day gadgets are being advertised that allow you to listen to music whilst you ride.
I think this is great! The guys will ride safer as they now have something to do, and can apply themselves to the beat of their favorite music.

2/8/2013 5:02:47 PM  Is a rider responsible for the pillion?
Do our pillions acknowledge and accept the responsibility they place on us? Are we as bikers fully aware of our responsibility towards the pillion? All too often pillions just get on and accept that things will be okay without thinking of consequences - and bikers accept them in the same way too. Of course, the same applies to passengers in a cage, but in the case of a bike ride the pillion needs to be more acutely aware of the riders experience, temperament and riding skills. Problem is, the inexperienced pillions have no way of knowing these things. Another factor is that inexperienced pillions may upset even an experienced rider's technique by doing unexpected things at the wrong time, thereby causing the rider to either lose concentration - or control of the bike.
A pillion must take full responsibility of his/her decision to ride and abolish the rider of all guilt should an accident occur. If they can't do this they should not ride at all. By accepting a ride on the back seat the pillion is actually saying: I trust you with my life and accept any consequences this ride may bring. I abolish you of all guilt and set you free of the responsibility I burden you with. DO YOU AGREE?

12/11/2012 8:20:03 PM  Rallies And Prizes
Some of the larger rallies offer big prizes. Let's ay the main prize is R100,000 bucks.

If you were the rally organizer, would you keep it like that or change it to ten prizes of R10,000.00? Yes (agree) to keep it like that, no (disagree) to change it to 10 prizes. What's your stand?

9/20/2012 8:36:06 PM  Charaties And Bikers
Way back in the 70's bikers started this thing about giving to charity. The reason was to try to fix the lousy image that biking had at that time. Charity runs and events continued through the years and became common, right up to today. Here we think about the national Toy Run etc, where many hundred thousands of rands are involved. It has now reached the stage where charity "expects" the bikers to donate and pressures us in this regard.

The question is, has it made a difference to the biker image or are we being used and abused? There are many public charity organizations, but how many of them are prepared to give to crippled or maimed bikers in dire need of help? We think you know the answer to that!
An old English proverb states that "charity begins at home". Bearing this in mind, should we not rather do these events and use the proceeds to look after our own who are in dire need?

Let's see your vote please. Do you agree or disagree?

9/4/2012 1:56:46 PM  Defining A Rally
Rallies need to be better defined. We see posters and adverts but they don't tell us exactly what we can expect at the rally. For example...will there be under 18's? Will there be public? Are cars and bakkies allowed in?

Don't you think that rallies should be better defined? In other words, if it's a rally where cars and under 18's are allowed, should it not be called a "family rally"? If it is a rally where the general public are also allowed, should it not be defined as a "public family rally"? If it's a rally where only bikes and bikers are allowed, should it not be called a "bike rally"? This way the reader can make up his mind which kind of rally he can attend.

So, do you think this is a good idea?
